Computer Vision Parking

A vision-based access system

Access decisions and camera events share one system.

Problem

Entry depended on cameras that people watched and on a separate list of who was allowed in. The picture and the decision were not the same system.

Before

An operator looked at a screen, checked a plate by eye and updated a log afterwards. Missed events were difficult to reconstruct.

Solution

Cameras feed a recognition step. The result is checked against access rules in the backend. The operator dashboard shows the event, the decision and the recent history instead of a raw video wall.

Architecture

  1. 01Cameras
  2. 02Recognition
  3. 03Access rules
  4. 04Backend
  5. 05Event log
  6. 06Operator dashboard

Result

Recognition, the access rule and the person on duty now look at the same event. The log is produced by the system, not typed after the fact.

Screens

Event views are shared privately. Plates and personal data are masked.
